Behind the Camera

i.Productions was originally created to develop independent productions and later developed to serve our clients full production needs from concept to completion. Over the years we have developed and been involved with some pretty amazing people and creative projects. It is our goal to continue this trend into the future. This section highlights the projects of our past and will continue to be updated with the projects of our future, so check back often.

Turtle Power

In late 2008 Isaac approached the producers of FauxPop.TV in Goderich Ontario with a BIG project idea. 2009 was to be the 25th anniversary of the world wide phenomenon known as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It was a simple plan, lets do a documentary about the history of the TMNT and the impact it had on pop culture. Little did we know we would be rocketed down an unforgettable road of production for over three years and counting. In early January of 2009 we built a 16 foot wide miniature city and shot a whole series of TMNT toy displays and “commercial” type sequences. Video in hand we hit the road to NYC Comic Con and Northampton MA to interview the people behind the original TMNT comics. This was the first of many trips South to interview and film with the people behind all aspects of the franchise. Currently we have collected well over 100 hours of content, hundreds of stills, and over 60 in-depth interviews with the people who created the Turtles, the artists behind the original comics, the designers of the toys, the voices and technicians of the cartoons, the magic makers of the movies, and the loyal fans world wide . Distribution of this film is currently in the works, with more details to come later in 2012. You can find the trailer in the video section or click HERE to see a sneak peak teaser of the upcoming documentary production.

Life of Charlie (Feature Film)

Between the second and third year of College Isaac and nine of his classmates ventured out to Clinton, Ontario and crammed themselves into a downtown building for a month to shoot a feature film in the area. “Life of Charlie” is a small town love story. Charlie, a young country boy living in a run down school bus on his father’s old property falls for a city girl in town for the summer. The film was shot all on location in Goderich, Clinton, Bayfield, and the surrounding farm land. We shot the film on the Sony FX1 with a PS Technic film adapter and Zeiss cine primes. As with many i.Productions projects there had to be one big effect, in this film the family mini van was driven through a bonfire, into a tree, and then thrown into a ravine. We had to push it off the hill twice as the first time the shot was completely missed.

Quick Suitors (Short Film)

This crazy ambitious short film was produced by Isaac and Tom Tennisco, a VFX artist from Toronto. When shooting a short that takes place in a future dystopian world of carnage and decay you have to set aside a lot of time for post production. This film was no exception, almost every shot has some form of visual effect added to it, more often then not entire background replacements. The trailer in the ‘Video’ section is a sneak peak from behind the camera. This short was shot on RED camera on location in Huron County, where all things are possible!

Legendary Land Cruisers

One of Isaac’s many passions (and hobbies) is that of the Toyota Land Cruiser. For those who are unfamiliar with this vehicle, it is basically a super tough line of Toyota 4×4 utility vehicles the company has been building since 1951. This project was developed as a fun back country extreme sports documentary taking place coast to coast across Canada and the United States. From the depths of the Potash mines in Saskatchewan to the snowy peaks of the Rockies and the harsh canyons of the Arizona desert. Isaac was a 19 year old kid fresh out of high school when he produced this documentary, traveling, shooting, hosting, and editing all on his own. The film sold copies all over the world through direct marketing and even made it on specialty channels in Bulgaria and Russia.
